I will be finished in a coding program in april, so the teacher I had she was boring, but my thing is how to make coding a interesting? What are the important info I need 2 know in order 2 advance in medical coding?
Your employer will help in this regard... by encouraging you to utilize the most appropriate (in terms of reimbursement) codes available for the service that was provided. But beyond that, you're in a career that entails putting numbers to paper. Take heart in knowing that you'll have plenty of creative energy available to you when you're NOT coding!

What did they start using after using a coding system named Unicode?
Delepoped through the cooperation of several of the leading manufactures of hardware and software. This code uses a unique pattern of 16 bits to represent each symbol. Unicode consists of 65,536 different bit patterns--enough to allow the most common Chinese and Japanese symbols to be represented. What did they start using after using a coding system named Unicode?
';ISO'; International Standards Organization
Of Which ANSI is a member.
Using patterns of 32 bits to represent symbols, this code has the potential of representing more than 17 million symbols.
Hey, hang on a sec, isn't Windows XP a 32 Bit OS, thought so.

How do I choose between medical transcription, medical coding, medical billing?
I'm interested in some type of online training but can't decide which
type of career is best for me. Any ideas how to narrow it down between medical transcription, medical coding, medical billing? How do I choose between medical transcription, medical coding, medical billing?
I am taking online courses for actually 3 different classes right now. I am doing Medical transcription, medical claims and billing, medical and dental assistant. So I know what you are talking about. lol but I am choosing to take all 3 different courses so I can be qualified in alot of things so that way I can get a job easy. The nursing field is in good demand even thought the economy is bad cause everyone always needs hospitals and nursing homes, dr appointments. So any 3 would be a good choice. If you want to work from home I would pick the medical transcription. If you want to work in the office I'd pick medical billing. Good luck to you!How do I choose between medical transcription, medical coding, medical billing?
I would suggest you do all three as well for a different reason: If you find a small office to work for, you will be the transcriptionist, but because the office is small, you will ALSO be the biller/coder. Many hospitals may choose this as well, since the positions are so closely related. Report Abuse

It depends on what your focus is. All three of these jobs may tie into each other, but each are taken from a different perspective.
Transcription- must have great typing skills, being able to decipher different physicians, knowledge of medical term, etc.
Billing - being familiar with the different insurance payors and their rules and regs for paying claims, knowing how to communicate with insurance companies eapecially Medicare/Medicaid.
Coding- knowledge of biology, medical term, medications, pathophysiology (disease process), ICD-9, CPT, DRGs, insurance companies, coding guidelines, etc.
Personally, I prefer coding. As a coder you also find yourself being a biller at times also. When claims are rejected, one of the coders jobs is to review the chart to see if they applied the correct code to claims. Also, it never gets boring being a coder, whether you are doing oupatient or inpatient coding. Some of the issues that these patients have are not only educational and interesting, but also is hilarious at times. Also, if you get a job at the right hospital, the pay is great.

How do I view and change HTML coding for a website?
I need to change something in a website, normally I use Contribute software, but this won't allow me to change what I need to change. How do I get to view and change the actual HTML code? How do I view and change HTML coding for a website?
You need to know where on the server the site HTML is stored. Then it's easy enough to change just using notepad or whatever.
So, it will depend on what web server software is being used.
For IIS, you're go to the web services manager, and find your site, then look at it's properties to see where it was stored. How long does it take to earn an associates degree in medical billing and coding?
I've been looking into Medical Billing and Coding as a career, and I've been researching the education required to enter this field, but there doesn't seem to be any one answer to my biggest question. So I'll ask it here:How long does it take to earn your associates degree in medical billing and coding? How long does it take to earn an associates degree in medical billing and coding?
This blog article has good information to consider when thinking about investing in a medical billing or coding degree. How long does it take to earn an associates degree in medical billing and coding?
Two years or less, as long as your school is reputable and doesn't stop having the classes once they get a batch of students in for the med billing and coding about to graduate.
if you are going to a community college full time it should take about two years. make sure the progam is accredited by CAHIIM. my wife is going for this degree now.

What coding language is used for programming video games?
I am starting to learn how to program. Ya know learning the concept of input%26gt; process %26gt;output ect.. I want to create games but I don't know the language used. I have been toled that it's C++ but then someone else told me C# so yea any help is appreciatedWhat coding language is used for programming video games?
To answer your question any programming language can be used to make games. Some with the help of DirectX or OpenGL. C++ as well as JAVA are amongst those that are commonly used to design games. Visual Basic can also be used to design games. C# since it's introduction from 2005 upto now can be used to design games as well. How ever I must recommend if you want to get into game programming, first thing is that you have to pick a language. you can use http://www.codepedia.com for a brief introduction to some of the languages. If C++, Java or C# doesn't seem as too much of a challange to you, then you must committ yourself into studying them. or any other language you choose to study for that matter. Try not to burden yourself down wigh too much programming languages until you understand which ever language you start off with. A person can design a excellent game in Visual Basic if he studies the language and apply what he learns skillfully and effectivelyWhat coding language is used for programming video games?
You can make games in many programming languages. My friend makes games in Java, I know that if you want to mod for certain game engines, C++ knowledge is required, but you can make games in most programming languages.
Basic and common languages are Java, Visual Basic, C# and C++ (idk if Flash counts, but you can definitely makes games with that)
The above people have points, you need to learn to make basic programs first.
Well, a developer can use any language they want for it, based on their own needs.
Most games nowadays are programmed in mostly C++, with little smatterings of other languages as well, such as C#. It's rare to see a game coded in ALL C++, but usually they're mostly C++, so if you want start with that.
Note: You can't just jump into programming games. You need to start small, with practical programs.
They are right about it being C++ and C#. There are others that are sometimes used but those are the most common. I wouldn't recommend going right into learning those languages if you've never had any experience programing. If you're really serious about programing you should start with something smaller then work your way up to those languages
If you want to learn to program - seriously - you study programming before you study any languages. Start with http://www-old.oberon.ethz.ch/WirthPubl/鈥?/a>
The one game I worked on at Microsoft was written in C++.

How would you go about cloning the gene coding of a peptide (in general, not a specific one) in the laboratory. In as many simple steps as possible so I can look up each step and try to develop an understanding for an assignment due tomorrow which was only set friday urgh. Thank you in advance! How do you clone the gene coding of a peptide at first year university biology level?
1. PCR
2. Gel Electrophoresis
3. Extract DNA band
4. Insert that into a plasmid vector
5. Transform vector into E.coli
6. Grow up the E.coli
7. Extract plasmid then gene. Now you have many copies of the gene (ie. cloned)

Can I persue medical billing and coding with a felony on my record?
I recently (less than a year ago) pled ';nolo contendre'; to a violent felony and I'm still on probation. I'd like to know if I go on to training for the field, do I have a chance of employment with my background. This is my only offense, but I've had difficulty finding jobs as it is. Thanks for your help! Can I persue medical billing and coding with a felony on my record?
For a medical transcription job it shouldn't be a problem. They usually do not do background checks. Good luck to you.Can I persue medical billing and coding with a felony on my record?
It is very hard to seek any type of employment with a felony conviction of any sort let alone a ';violent felony';.
A thorough comprehension of different insurance plans and accompanying governing laws/regulations is also necessary to any adept medical biller. Typically, post-secondary education is required for medical billing. To become a successful medical transcriptionist, a working knowledge of medical terminology (including jargon and abbreviations), computer proficiency, and comprehension of current industry and legal standards is required.
Disclosure for Stark College in Ohio (who offers a medical transcriptionists course)...
According to various sections of the Ohio Law and Regulations for Certification and Licensure Boards, persons convicted of any felony or a misdemeanor may not be accepted into a health program at Stark State College; may not be able to take the licensure or certification examinations; may be refused acceptance of placement by the clinical/practicum sites; or may have restrictions placed on their ability to practice.
Some states require you to hold a license.

What is the best way when figuring out best way to approach coding a VB application?
I am in a beginning class to VB.Net. I know the basis and formulas of the code but I'm having problems figuring out the best way to approach coding the application. I'm particularly having trouble with coding functions and procedures (not event procedures) effectively. I have spent close to 14 hours working on an assignment trying to figure it out.
Any help would be hot. What is the best way when figuring out best way to approach coding a VB application?
You should probably realize that your question is extremly relevent to the indivudal asked. Personally, I don't believe there IS a ';best'; way, as with algorthim design, just because your solution is considered the best by today's standard, that does not mean it wont be obsolete by future standards.
There are many books dedicated to problem solving in computer science, not just creation and implemneation of algorthims.
Anyway, the technique I use goes something like this.
Read the program description
Read the program description again
Read the program description again
Make sure I understand the program description
Get all required documents for program creation, testing, input/output
Design an algorthim or test the one in use.
Use sample input to get ';good'; output
Test for possible bugs by thinking about the impelmentation.
Code program
Test Program
Debug program
If all other steps are completed, document program. What is the best way when figuring out best way to approach coding a VB application?
I'm not sure what kind of foundational classes you've take prior to taking your current class, but there are some programming principles that are common for any object oriented language. That is to modularize the code into reusable classes that can be called upon in the future.
So, as someone else explained, when you are reading through the project requirements keep in mind what kind of code would be needed to accomplish this task. Keep the methods and functions of the classes relatively short. Try to keep the lines of code for each method and function between 10 - 20. If you start getting more lines of code than that, you may want to think about refactoring your code. That is, break the procedure down into two procedures.
For instance, if you were needing to return a dataset from a database for the students who took biology this last semester, you could write a function that would:
-take criteria from calling method
-construct a query with the criteria
-connect to the database
-query the database
-load results into dataset
-return the dataset
That would work fine, but we could go even further and break this down into two functions:
-one function would be to collect the criteria from calling method
-create a query or stored procedure (command object) and pass that information to another function.
The second function would:
-take the command object from the calling method
-connect to the database and query the database using the information provided
-return the dataset to the calling method
Now, you have a generic method that can be used simply to connect to the database and query the database using any command object
You won't have to rewrite that code again in the future.

I am studying through a online Institute for medical billing and coding. I actually want to be able to work from home so I can be with my three young children. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to do this type of work from home? Are there many medical groups that let ';biller and coders'; :) work from home? How difficult is it to work from home doing medical billing and coding?
Be careful on companies advertising online that they can do this for you. Often times you end up paying a fee, you are given some basic training info then you are off on your own to get your own customers. I would check into a community college, learn a skill like medical billing then market yourself directly to doctors and medical groups. Also, find somebody on line maybe through a forum and ask them how they got started. good luckHow difficult is it to work from home doing medical billing and coding?
Good luck with medical billing. I had no luck doing medical transcripts because I had to contact the doctors office and speak with the doctor about doing transcripts. I had to fill out an application to work there and they wanted aqll of my information! Try http://www.pcvideogamespot.com for WFH job Report Abuse

Beyond your schooling, you will need at least 2-3 years experience, references and referrals before you can really start obtaining clients to do the work at home. And how are you going to concentrate on getting your work done accurately and on time if you have kids running around? How are you going to talk to clients on the phone if the kids start screaming? You'll need to work that out. If you are running a biz, you cannot have children interrupt any phone conversation or be heard in the background.
Medical billing can offer an excellent opportunity to create a lucrative home-based business; in fact, it is one of the top home-based businesses today! However, work-from-home scams abound in every industry, and medical billing is no exception. Here are a few warning signs that may indicate that the medical billing company you are dealing with is a scam:
They require money upfront. You should never give a company money in order to launch your home-based business. They do not require an education. You need a degree or certificate in medical billing in order to successfully navigate the industry - period.
Their only contact information is an 800 number. Make sure the company has an address or local phone number in addition to an 800 number. They “guarantee” a certain income. While medical billing can be a very profitable business, no one can “guarantee” a huge salary right away.
They claim to be their own clearinghouse company. Remember, the key with your home-based medical billing business is research. Investigate any company you’re interested in by contacting the Better Business Bureau (BBB) before you agree to do business with them.
You may also want to contact a trusted friend or colleague in the medical billing business for referrals or recommendations. Keep these red flags in mind and you’ll be well-equipped to avoid work-from-home scams!
Sorry, I don't know about medical billing but if you want to work from home you should check out www.beyourownbossplus.net. I work for a medical discount company from home. It is a 15 year old company and is a member of US Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Dental Plans. If you look into it you will find out that it is a legitimate 100 million dollar company. The best part is you can earn money while helping people save on medical expenses which is very important considering today's economy and people losing their jobs and benefits. You would work as an independent contractor and make your own hours. There is no telemarketing or cold calling. I actually learned about the company from Yahoo answers and I am glad I did.
Online medical billing and coding schools are very suspect when it comes to training on the latest medical/billing software since most medical centers have very customized medical software which is not normally shared with trade schools and the like. In the real world of medical billing and coding, training occurs on-the-job. We therefore do not recommend that you subscribe to any online school for medical billing and coding and concentrate on entering a medical internship program at your local medical facility/center for medical billing/coding.
On another subject: the major bulk of medical billing/coding work in the U.S. has been greatly curtailed by state privacy laws as it pertains to medical records and patient confidentiality. The vast majority of medical records are kept in recordkeeping departments within medical centers and any billing/coding work is done ';in-house,'; not ';outsourced.'; So, beware of any offers which promote online in home medical billing/coding work--there are scammers out there.
Good luck!
Hi, what school do you attend online for medical billing and coding?
there are some schools that only offer certification for that field. But if you want to make good $$ i suggest you go for you're associates Degree. Not alot of schools offer associates Degree. Also, it is suggested that you first work at a hospital for at least a year before you branch out at home. and some hospitals will offer you to work from home, you will still be there employee with benefits and all, but you will do it from home. that is the best way to do it first before you go on you're own. I am actually attending Devry University for Health Information Technology Medical Billing and Coding Associates Degree. They offer a life time Job placement So I wont go wrong with that.
I am taking online classes right now.I am actually getting 3 different certificates. Medical claims and billing, medical transcription, medical and dental assistant. I know 83% of people who are doing medical transcription work from home. I know that if your a medical biller you can work from home. it is more like proabably 45% work from home but you can still work from home. You just have to find a doctor who wants there empoyees to do it from home. You can have your own business and contract yourself out or you can just work for one doctor and do his/her work from home. That is what i am going to start out doing. If you do the billing you can work from home even though you have 3 kids. IT might be a little harder but you can do it. Us mothers can do anything. I have 2 small children and thats why I amgettign these certificates so I can be home with them. good luck!
You will want to get certified when you are done. See the AHIMA website and www.med-certification.com for more information on that. I just graduated in Dec 2008 w/ a bachelor's degree in accounting, but I am interested in medical billing/coding. What is the best approach for me to take at this point in order for the career change? And will my bachelor's degree help or hurt me with this change? What is the best way to get a job in medical billing/coding?
The medical world holds a wealth of different careers from the obvious nurse and doctor careers to adminstrative careers. My sister wanted to work in this area, but she wasn't certain exactly what she wanted to do. She found the site in the resource box below, it has lots of tips, and it aided her to settle what she wanted to do. They have guidance with other jobs too.

What are the most popular coding languages for website development?
I'm currently in ';training'; (independent study) to be able to make beautiful, interactive websites. I'll consider myself generally fluent in XHTML and CSS, however... what comes next? I was planning to go ahead and jump into JavaScript, however all sorts of languages are popping up left and right:
PHP, SQL, Ajax, Java, Rails, C++, C#...
For creating beautiful, interactive (and safe and secure!) websites, what do I turn to?What are the most popular coding languages for website development?
Most popular Client side languages would be Javascript (and it's children languages like Jquery and AJAX) and HTML (XHTML, HTML 4.01 all in the same category).
The most popular Server sides depends on what you're working on. The government likes to use ASP.NET for their stuff and PHP is free so people like to use it the most I would say. PHP is amazing, I'm in the middle of learning it now and it's fairly easy. I would have to say PHP is the most popular server side language.
-BillyWhat are the most popular coding languages for website development?
I would choose C# ASP.Net 3.5, because I think it is one of the better solutions.
I've seen Banks, Cities and Government systems coded in C#, so I'm sure it can handle whatever website you need it to do. (VB.Net is easier on the beginners, though.)
I would recommend you avoid PHP, choose Java/Python if you don't like C# or VB.Net
I love PHP, it's amazing. Naturally.
And I'd say it's the most popular as well.
There are 4 completely different concepts here.
Javascript and it's child, Asynchronous Javascript (Ajax) are both client-side scripting in the browser- stuff you do with them creates dynamic webpages and everything is done on the end-user's computer. This is good if you want to put fancy effects on the webpage and what not, as well as do some processing locally.
Java and C# are like Actionscript (Adobe Flash)- they're used to make programs that run inside web pages, but they are not used in webpages by themselves. They require people to download a program to make them run (Java Runtime and Silverlight respectively).
PHP and Ruby on Rails (the Ruby language with the Rails web framework), along with Perl and Python (2 you didn't mention here) are used for server-side scripting. This is the same type of scripting as ASP.NET (which is written in any .NET language, including VIsual Basic and C#). What this does is have the sever decide what webpage to give the user. This is used in systems like Facebook and webmail pages where you want to give different pages to different people. It's a lot more secure than using javascript to serve up the webpage.
SQL is a specialty language- it's used almost exclusively for storing and retreiving data in databases. You can't use this on it's own and you should try not to use it directly. This is one of the things that a good server-side web framework like Ruby On Rails and Django (for Python) will get rid of for you.
C++ is used primarily for desktop programming and you really shouldn't use it for web programming. C++ programs are generally faster than those in these other, interpreted languages but C++ makes you deal with things on a much lower level than those other languages so you have to deal with things like memory management.
What you should do is some combination of the first 2. Use Javascript to create a beautiful web page but use a server-side framework like Ruby on Rails or PHP for the behind-the-scenes stuff like storing user names and passwords and choosing what each person can see.

How long does it take to get a degree in medical coding and billing? Do you make good money?
I am currently teaching and I am getting very burned out. I used to work at a hospital and I worked alongside some ladies that did billing and coding, so I am just curious if I need a degree, or how long it would take to get one.How long does it take to get a degree in medical coding and billing? Do you make good money?
You need to go to a community college that is accredited by AHIMA so you can take the national exam and get your RHIT certification. Most places require this now, and if a place doesn't, they most likely will soon, at least as far as hospitals go.
To find the list of accredited programs, visit www.ahima.orgHow long does it take to get a degree in medical coding and billing? Do you make good money?
Hi my ex husband graduated from medical coding last year it took him about 11 months to graduate he earns up to 9 hr in texas.
You'll need an associates. I work in a hospital and coding and billing is intense with LOTS of regulations. Personally, I'd get burnt out in 2 days! :)
you can get trained in as little as six weeks, I would try PureMedicalJobs.com medical billing page but I personally would keep your current job until you find another one

What's the difference between PHP, IFrame and DIV Coding when your coding a layout?
What's the difference between PHP, IFrame and DIV Coding when your coding a layout? What's the difference between PHP, IFrame and DIV Coding when your coding a layout?
okey you got a few things mixed up there.
so, php is used to generate dynamic content, not to design the site.
IFrames are bad and evil. If u use them too much they'll take over the internet and kill us all. Do not use them.
div's your friend. use them for a general structure and then work with css to style them. Divs are friendly.
btw: Tables are also evil. Only use them to display data that needs to be in a table. What's the difference between PHP, IFrame and DIV Coding when your coding a layout?
The difference between PHP and iframe/div is staggering. iframe and div is HTML, and PHP is a scripting language.
You use PHP to write web apps that query databases, verify logins, create pages on the fly, etc. and the list goes on and on.
An iframe is like having a hole on your page, and in that hole is another web page. If that page is clicked ONLY that page will refresh so that the rest of the site appears to stay in the same place. It's not valid HTML and is therefore not encouraged because browsers can interpret iframes however they want. An iframe is only a container and the page that goes inside it still needs to be written as usual.
A div layout is the preferred method. It basically means that you chop up your page in to sections, like a header, navigation bar, side panels, main content, and footer, etc. A div layout implies a strong use of CSS to style the way the page looks. div layouts can be tricky but when mastered are much easier to maintain and change layouts in the future.
IFrame and Div are HTML tags. They are only for the layout purposes. Using IFrame, you can view another html file in your main html.
Div is used to display contents in a html page. You can put some text, image, and/or combination to display in a div.
PHP is not related to layout. PHP is a language to develop dynamic websites, web applications. Like, if you are fetching data from database and want to display it within a div, you will fetch data from database using PHP. Because HTML cannot do so. Once you have data, you can display it in DIV.

Where can I find a work from home medical billing or coding job?
I'm a certified coder and have worked as a biller and coder for a couple of years. I want to earn some extra money on the side by doing this work at home, but I can't find any telecommuting jobs. Any ideas? I'm also a part time student, and I could definitely use the extra money for school expenses.Where can I find a work from home medical billing or coding job?
You have a number of options-and med billing from home is a great way to go. You can hook up with a billing company, strart your own, completely freelance (if you know any drs. with smaller offices who would be interested) or try the temp agencies. There are a number of them that specialize in medical billing. Check your yellow pages for your local ones (yeah, I know, way old school) or do a Google search . Good luck.Where can I find a work from home medical billing or coding job?
Won't be real easy to find, but if you have a couple years experience you might find something. Have you checked with any former employers?

How does the promoter determine which DNA strand is “coding” and “template”? Is the coding strand used by RNA?
How does the promoter determine which DNA strand is “coding” and “template”? Is the coding strand used by RNA polymerase?
May someone explain this to me in a easy to understand explanation. Thanks in advance! How does the promoter determine which DNA strand is “coding” and “template”? Is the coding strand used by RNA?
i Love..
The RNA Polymerase is holoenzyme and has a molecular wt. of 4,80,000. Its subunit composition is a,b,b' and s (sigma). the holoenzyme can be separated into two components, the core enzyme and the sigma factor (9 polypeptide). It requires template of double strand DNA or occasionally a single stranded DNA, four ribonucleotide triphosphates GTP, ATP, UTP, CTP and Mg+ or Mn. Recognized by RNA polymerase are called promoter. The size of the promoter region is variable. In prokaryates it varies from 20-200 bases. Core enzyme can not recognize the promoter region, sigma factor is required for recognition and formation of the complex. It occurs in four steps :
(i) Sigma factor recognizes the promoter sequences.
(ii) RNA polymerase attaches to promoter region.
(iii) RNA polymernse melts the helical structure and separates two strands of DNA locally.
(iv) RNA polymerase initiates RNA synthesis.
The site at which the first nudeotide is incorporated is called the start site or initiation point.
There are few specific characteristics of promoter sequence :
a. The Pribnow box (after the name of its discover, David Pribnow) or-10 box is a sequence contained with the promoter region. It is located 5-10 bases to the left, i.e., upstream the first four bases that will be copied into RNA. It orients RNA polymerase as to the direction and start of synthesis.
b. All Pribnow boxes are variants of TATAATG sequences and sometimes referred to as TATA box. Typically it contains nine bases.
c. Since the RNA polymerase has a huge size, it comes into contact with Pribnow box.
d. Once bound to the Prinbox box, RNA polymerase dissociates from the initial recognition site.
e. This complex is active intermediate in RNA chain initiation. The important event is the melting of DNA duplex that takes place about 10 bases pairs upstream of TATA box and extending to the first transcribe base at the start point.
For further deatils check in this link:
http://www.wiziq.com/tutorial/32754-TATA…How does the promoter determine which DNA strand is “coding” and “template”? Is the coding strand used by RNA?
DNA has two strands. Both strands are the opposite of each other so they match like a puzzle. A promoter is the exact same and is the opposite of the region of DNA it wishes to began coding. It will only bind to the region that is its exact opposite. So if the promoter is GGGCCC it will ONLY bind to DNA that is CCCGGG. It will not be able to bind to anything else.
May someone explain this to me in a easy to understand explanation. Thanks in advance! How does the promoter determine which DNA strand is “coding” and “template”? Is the coding strand used by RNA?

How difficult is it to obtain a career in medical billing/coding?
I've been doing data entry from home for a litigation support company for 5 years but would like to expand into the medical field of billing/coding because the legal work isn't constant enough. How much school is necessary to get a degree in medical billing/coding and how easy is it to get a job in this field? How difficult is it to obtain a career in medical billing/coding?
If you have data entry experience, then taking a course in medical coding may be all you need.
There are lots of medical coding jobs out there. (It's part of what's wrong with our whole health industry. The administrative and paperwork overhead is weighing down the whole thing.)
*ahem* Sorry about the soapbaxing there. Yes, there are lots of jobs in the field. See if there are classes in medical coding. An entire degree is not necessary, but if you're not expereinced in it, you'll need a little training. How difficult is it to obtain a career in medical billing/coding?
Medical billing/coding is an easy certificate to get. Most of the techincal institutes offer courses. I think the programs are close to or less than a year long. As far as how easy a job would be to land, most of those institutes have placement.
Good luck.

Is it true you can work at home billing and coding and make good money?
I heard you can make good money doing this but it requires some college which you can also take online. Does anyone know about this and how much you would make?Is it true you can work at home billing and coding and make good money?
noIs it true you can work at home billing and coding and make good money?
Yes, you can work at home doing billing and coding and make good money because all you do is sit in your chair and do bills or punching numbers in.
yes if you follow in goggle
NO! Because of the new HIPPA guidelines, you can't take medical records out of the doctors' office. And most of them don't have their records online.

What position at a hospital will prepare me for medical coding?
I'm working at a hospital as an admitting representative now. I want to become a coder. If there aren't any entry level positions in HIM, what other departments should I consider? When they hired me, they said the hospital would pay for medical billing certification (I didn't ask about coding).
I know technical schools offer coding programs, but I would rather get my foot in the door first as I've heard it is very difficult to get a coding job with a certificate and no experience. What position at a hospital will prepare me for medical coding?
The best way to get into coding/billing is to keep your current job, (it is your ace in the hole and best resource.) go to school and wait for a job at your facility. There really is no other depts that will transfer to coding or give you any real coding experience. At least not at my hospital. but a good job recommendation from you current supervisor will make you a shoe-in for any openings-IF you have finished training.
If you want to work before you go to school-find another career to go into. What position at a hospital will prepare me for medical coding?
Any job in the medical records dept. would help you get your foot in the door -- a file clerk or whatever.
Other than that, I'd say something in the business/billing areas might help .

What's the difference between having an associates in medical coding and billing and just having a certificate
Is it even necessary to have an associates degree for medical coding and billing? I have been doing some research on this career, I just want to make sure I am making the right choice. I don't want to waste my time earning an associates degree for this career if it's not needed. Any advice from any people in that field? What's the difference between having an associates in medical coding and billing and just having a certificate
An associate degree is from a two year technical or community college. A certificate is something you receive after a single or a series of course(s) focusing on a specific topic. Depending the on the organization employing the medical coders, one or the other will do.
I would suggest you contact a local hospital or insurance company and ask them what the qualifications are for there coder positions.

It is a very lucrative career choice. I've been a recruiter in the medical industry for 12 years and this is one of the most needed careers out there today. The reason being that the hospitals and other healthcare facilities don't receive reimbursement from medicare and medicaid if they don't have enough coders to process and submit their bills to the gov't and health insurance companies. Go for it and good luck!I am thinking about getting a medical billing and coding certificate. Is it a good career choise?
if you cant spell you shouldn't go for it. you need to know a lot of medical terminology Report Abuse
i went through a 6 month course while at my last job. it got me hired at a multi specialty clinic doing billing, but i really didn't learn much until employed, and the course was overpriced. my advice is to get an entrylevel position at a drs office and work your way up. then, do coding for a specialty, it's easier to keep up with the changes, usually the pay is higher, and you can learn more about that one thing. good luck!!

What job duties are involved in medical billing and coding career?
I will graduate from a medical billing and coding program this May and will be starting my search for a job before then. Can anyone tell me what job duties may be included in this career? Should I expect to work in the front helping patients or will I strictly code? What job duties are involved in medical billing and coding career?
It depends. Since you don't have any experience, which I assume you don't, I highly doubt you'll get a job strictly coding. From my experience I can tell you that most of your duties will be dealing with claims and insurance. As far as working in the front helping patients that depends on where u work and if there isn't somewhere there that already does that. But if u do you'll probably give out paperwork to fill out, take copays, make copies, and such things. I can go on and on, but u may want to try to search for jobs and just look at the job descriptions, that might help. It took me a year to find a job after I graduated...Good Luck!!What job duties are involved in medical billing and coding career?
Not to be rude, but shouldn't you have thought of this before you started school? I don't think you would be doing anything with patients, only medical assistants, doctors, nurses, and nurse aides do that...
talk to a counselor at your school. they will be the best source of info for you in your particular area.

How can I get into the medical billing and coding field without experience? I have taking courses at my local community college but everyone's looking for experience. How can I get into medical billing and coding without experience?
Try getting just an medical office job first and when you fill out an application, put that you have taken courses in medical billing. Some offices will see that as a plus and be willing to give you a shot maybe when their regular person goes on vacation, takes a day off, etc. I fell into the billing part one day when they were swamped with no experience or education in that area and ended up working in billing for 9 months. Just keep trying, and keep looking, keep positive, if you don't get the job, say well it wasn't right for me, the right one is out there...
With a degree/certificate you should be able to get one, just keep looking!!!
don't let it get you down...
Ask if they (your community college) have internship in your class curriculum. I studied Medical Billing and got my job just where I was an intern. I know it's difficult getting a job without experience. Don't give up and study all the possibilities. Sometimes you have to work for free in order to acquire experience. I know... :S
God bless you
fastest. Apply for hospital Customer Service Rep. or billing coder - - always looking for people to be 'glued' to the telephone or code on computer all day. After a few months (usually 3), most state you are eligible to apply to other positions within. Definitely, elaborate on your billing %26amp; knowledge using words such as 'proficient' , etc...

I am checking into a few online schools and Im worried that their claims maybe to good to be true. I like data entry and working from home would let me fit a second job in, but is it for real?Is there such jobs as medical billing and coding and can you work from home?
';If a company requires initial payment from you in order to work for them, they are not legitimate.';
There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare.
If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as 'Best'.

The work from home jobs that aren't scams actually require work on your part - and if you're in need of money soon then you're likely to be sorely disappointed in any of those as well. Most of the legit opportunities out there take time to build - so if someone makes an outrageous claim of income it probably isn't true ( and those that are true sure didn't make that kind of money when they first began ).

I have other ideas that may help - one of them is an online opportunity but another is one that will require a little effort to market yourself - try some data entry for local businesses, many of them don't have the time to do it in-house and will gladly pay someone else to do it. What is the better job, medical billing and coding or healthcare administration?
I am looking to go back to school, but what area would provide better job stability, especially in Pueblo Colorado? What is the better job, medical billing and coding or healthcare administration?
Administration would be a better route because it opens up more. Medical billing is very specific - that degree will allow you to be a medical biller. However, healthcare administration will allow you to work in healthcare, but gain administrative or business experience that will allow you to transfer fields or move up the corporate ladder. Billing will get you a job that you will ahve for life without advancement. Administration will probably be harder to find a job initially, but after that you could move up high. What is the better job, medical billing and coding or healthcare administration?
All great choices. I really enjoy coding/billing. Are you considering a degree in HIM? That wouldn't be a bad idea either. Have you considered medical transcription?

What is the best language to learn for coding an e-commerce shopping cart?
I am interested in coding a e-commerce cart for my site. What is the best language to use for this task. I don't want it to become outdated so I wan't to learn the best language right off the bat. Please just tell me what languages are involved. What is the best language to learn for coding an e-commerce shopping cart?
PHP
* It's very popular so easy to find support when you need it
* Easy to learn
* Actively and continuously being improved and extended. What is the best language to learn for coding an e-commerce shopping cart?
Although there are pre-built e-commerce scripts, it's usually best to create your own.
You should probably use PHP, however ASP will also work. PHP is easier to work with and can easily be integrated into any website.
If you're using PHP, you'll want to get familiar with setcookie (to save cart data) and $_COOKIE (to retrieve cart data). You can use foreach to display each cart item.
For quick reference, go to php.net
You can probably find a book at your library to help you learn PHP.
Hope this helps!
use ASP or PHP, both are used for server side scripting and deal with those type of things.

How can I do medical billing and coding from home?
I would like to know if there is anyone out there that does medical billing and coding from home that doesn't require a degree. If anyone knows legitimate places where I can do this please respond. How can I do medical billing and coding from home?
The vast majority of medical records are kept in recordkeeping departments within medical centers and any billing/coding work is done ';in-house,'; not ';outsourced.'; So, beware of any offers which promote online at home medical billing/coding work--there are scammers out there.

I am looking for a medical coding and billing internship so I can get experience. I am already going to school so please don't give me any schools sites and please no sales sites. I have heard it is hard to get a job in this field without it. Is this true? How can i get a medical coding and billing internship?
You can go to AAPC website. They have something that is called Project Xtern, but the only thing is that you have to be a member. So I would just join with them, even though you are going to have to join soon or later why not now. And yes, it is very hard getting a job in this field. I got my certificate in June of 2008 and no job yet. You might want to also try volunteering at a hospital. If you have anymore question feel free to email me rparker8152002@yahoo.com maybe we can help each other out. Good Luck!!!

Is it more important to have coding or transcription?
I think my college is ripping me off to begin with. I was told that financial aid only covers the cost of courses for my degree, any extra classes I must pay for. However, at my previous school financial aid covered the cost of classes long as you were a full time student and up to 18 credits (for any classes, degree related or not)
With that said, I was wanting to get an AS in both transcription and coding. It was only 3 extra classes but I found out I would have to cover the cost of them my self. Because I'm planning a wedding, 19, and work part-time at old navy I'm a little tight on cash and don't want to pay for the extra 3 classes. (I can always go back later to get the other, but right now I need to choose which path for next semester's classes.
Which is the more important skill to obtain a job in a doctor's office? I'm assuming coding would be.Is it more important to have coding or transcription?
I'm only guessing here, but I would say coding. Voice recognition systems are taking over transcription.

I'm learning how to make premade lookups but i don't know how to code it so my pet's, trophies, etc will show in the boxes i made instead of the premade becoming just a background. How can binary coding be used to convey words?
I found this online translator, and it translate between binary and words, and it actually works. How does this work? How can binary coding be used to convey words?
One bit corresponds to one transistor in memory. One byte consists of 8 bits. Every letter or character occupies one byte (or 8 bits) of memory. The standard used to assign those 8-digit binary numbers to every letter, numeral, and other character is called ASCII.How can binary coding be used to convey words?
it gives each letter a number such as: a-1 b-10 c-11 d-100 e-101 etc. then it just converts that to english
The letters of this answer are being produced using binary, probably using something called ASCII, where each letter of the alphabet is assigned an agreed-on number (a=65, b=66, etc...) and then those number are represented as binary codes (so a=1000001,b=1000010, etc).
binary uses zeros and ones like an on off switch. zero is off and one is on. binary is a huge compilation of series of off/on commands. each letter is assigned a series of off/on protocols. actually every that uses the word digital works off of this principal, on off on off on on off on on on off off offf off on on on off on on off off

What is the difference between a medical coding specialist and a medical coding prefessional?
Which certification should I go with and why? Would appreciate any info from someone that has one of these certifications and did it help you to get hired where you could get some medical coding experience. What is the difference between a medical coding specialist and a medical coding prefessional?
There is no difference, and I also agree with the poster above me, It is very difficult to get a coding job. Employers require experience. It took me 2.5 years working as a medical receptionist doing minimal coding to finally move up to a full time coding position at a hospital. As far as outsourcing, that isn't supposed to be a huge problem, due to HIPPA laws, some ompanies won't want to outsource the patient record. But then again, you never know for sure. What is the difference between a medical coding specialist and a medical coding prefessional?
Regarding medical billing companies outsourcing to Asia/India , I've heard otherwise that it's all too common now. Please do keep that in mind when considering schooling :) Report Abuse
As far as I know, there is no regular ';medical coding'; profession. This type of job falls under health records technician training or the health records administrator position. You will need to take training to become either a records administrator, or a records technician. Also with a lot of hospital jobs, or with a lot of jobs in general within this field, they require that you're registered with their college, or with their association in order to be able to work in the field. With the registration, I think that you need to have so many hours before you will even be able to apply for registration, so hence, that is why a lot of hospitals, and other organizations need you to have experience in the field.
I'm not sure that there is a difference among the two, however, there actually aren't supposed to be too many jobs for the medical coder (or medical biller or med assistant) despite what those private $$ tech schools say. Most coders need a couple years experience doing coding tasks and have completed an accredited program to possibly get a job. (With medical billing, a lot of companies are outsourcing to Asia/India which is what happened to my cousin who was laid off from her med billing job of five years.)
If still interested in med coding, please only consider the more affordable county vo-tech school or community college as long as it's accredited within industry.glycolic acid peel glycolic peel cream anti aging facial
Electric wire color coding: green is ground but what is black and white?
Ashamed cannot remember but haven't messed with this stuff since my stroke. Putting 2-prong plug on big old heavy-duty drop cord. Searched web and it only referred to green plus red and black. I think my black is positive but i am not sure. Facing the 3 prongs, it is obvious which prong is ground (green) but the left and right prongs confuse me. Which gets the black and which gets the white? Please help me. Need to use it today. Thank you in advance.Electric wire color coding: green is ground but what is black and white?
Look at the spots where the wires go. You are right about the green, of course. The black is your power, and white is neutral.
The screw heads on the plug will have a green painted one for the ground, a silver colored one for white, and the brass or copper colored one is for the black wire.Electric wire color coding: green is ground but what is black and white?
Black is hot, white neutral. Hook up the white to the wider of the two prongs (left), black to the narrower one.
black is hot. white is nuetral. green is ground.
Good answers so far. One thing to watch out for is polarization. If the male and female plugs have one slot (or prong) that is wider than the other, it's where the white wire should be attached.

What coding was used when the first software for computers were being developed?
What code or type of writing did, in example, Bill Gates use to make the first Microsoft Windows software? What coding was used when the first software for computers were being developed?
Hello;
The first computer language (as we would understand it) would have been machine code ... this was the painstaking process of entering all the little procedures according to how the chip was designed ... it was very difficult to use. This is what Bill Gates and others would have used to write the there programs in.
If I remember correctly ... The first modern computer Language was CoBOL (Common Business Oriented Language) written in the mid 60's. It was a very powerful language written for doing business (by the military).
Hope that helps,
BillWhat coding was used when the first software for computers were being developed?
Computer programming was around long before Bill Gates by about 40 years - http://www.computer50.org/mark1/contempo鈥?/a> and non-computer devices were being programmed before 1900 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Programming鈥?/a>
MS-DOS was written in assembler language in 1980 - http://www.skrause.org/computers/dos_his鈥?/a>
It had around 4,000 lines of code, Windows Vista has around 50 million. In comparison, Fedora Linux has 205 million lines of code, of which 7 million are contained in the kernel - http://www.linuxfoundation.org/publicati鈥?/a>
well thats a very interesting question.
by my predictions, id say you were a nock.
nerd-jock, youve got the brains and the bod. And a great personality, but aas to your nerd question, i cant help you :)

What coding language should I start out with?
I am 16, and have decided to learn coding languages. What should I start out with? What coding language should I start out with?
Lot of debate there. Some will say Python, some VB. some C, some Java,
I just gave this advice to someone else asking about starting programming.
There is a veteran programmer on reddit.com who is posting step by step lessons for learning programming. He is starting with the basics, and using C. They are excellent lessons, giving one concept at a time and building up your knowledge of the subject. He and his moderators monitor all the lessons for questions you may have and will answer them. The subreddit is carlhprogramming and I think it's just what you're looking for.
Here is a link to a list of the lessons

In my opinion your should start out with JAVA. It is one of the easier languages out there and its not difficult to find hundreds of books on the subject. From experience JAVA is easier to learn first, and knowing JAVA helps when learning other languages.

Coding....?
are you a software professional (programmer) ? do you face difficulties in coding? do you feel ';i wont be able to do it'; ? how do you overcome such situations?Coding....?
how can anybody predict ur situation without any of ur detailsCoding....?
I hit those spots from time-to-time. They way I can break thru is usually by taking myself out of the situation altogether, or trying to look at it in a different way. For example I may hand write instead of type code to get a new perspective on it.
If that doesn't work, I bounce ideas off of people, even when they have no idea what i'm talking about it's a big help to me to get the idea out verbally.
Good luck!
i do face difficulties but it's about your attitudes and how see things if you them hard they will be hard if you see them easy they will be easy so have they right attitude
It depends if you're stuck because you're lacking informations or because you're not qualified enough in the language. I am actually putting a big project up from scratch, and that's a lot of learning.
I face both problems, sometimes I'm having problems coding something because I'm just not informed enough to completely understand and get a clear idea of how I should code it, the rest of the time I just don't know there's already a function for it, or which one was it, already?
So I read. I'm actually midway in some books; one in HTML/CSS, one about Java, another about software RAIDs, another about the new Linux distribution I want to try, and I think I'm forgetting one. I also had to use some C and SH the other day... with MySQL and.. well anyway.. If you put it all together, that makes a lot of subjects.
There is also the tiredness factor... When you're doing something you like, something you are in such a hurry to get results with, you often go to bed late, and deceived because you were stuck on something before you decided to go sleep because you were really bored... The morning of the next day, you look at the same problem, and sometimes you don't really feel like it's a problem anymore.
Another VERY USEFUL thing I added lately in my office is a 4' x 3' whiteboard, to use with markers... It really helps to take a particularly hard problem and to play with it on a board (it might be sheets of paper too), it gives me another way of seeing the problem, and often it helps my so limited short time memory to care about every little details of the problem at once.
That's about it... You can also ask for some help too, sometimes! :)
Yeah, discussing the problem often allows you to see things that you otherwise would not notice offhand. Often when I'm in a situation like that I will talk to a friend, family member, someone I'm dating, etc., and though I'll quickly watch their eyes glass over, it usually helps me to see a better approach, or a way around the problem presented. This is very helpful to me...
I hope that helps.
